Ericka Williams

ERYCKAEricka Monique Williams has established herself as a female that has accomplished many feats. She graduated from Rutgers University with a degree in Communications. She has been teaching Language Arts (reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and video critiquing) in Paterson, New Jersey for more than five years. She is very influential in the lives of her present and former students, many of whom she continues to have a positive relationship with.

In 2002, Ericka self-published her first novel titled "All That Glitters". She began booking her own signings. The novel covers many of the social issues that the Western world deals with. Although the book may be put into the black lit category the story covers the conflicts that people of all races face.

The story's theme proves that relying on one's outer beauty to get ahead or to manipulate others only leaves one with a false sense of pride. The characters are young and dumb in that they think the world revolves around them. The main character has many inner conflicts that she is trying to overcome by ignorantly thinking that money is the answer.  The novel touches on sexual promiscuity, drug addiction, HIV/AIDS, family dysfunction, single parenthood, and low self-esteem. The inspiration to write the story came from the death of Ericka's close cousin, Nadja, whose self-destructive lifestyle led to her early demise.

In 2006, Ericka executive produced, directed, and starred in the short film of, All That Glitters.  Her goal is to complete the film.

In August 2007 a publisher, Life Changing Books, edited and re-released her novel. Ericka continues to teach while doing book signings in her spare time. She has already completed the sequel to "All That Glitters" which is titled "Shining Star" and has begun the third part of the trilogy, "Nothin but the Blood".

Ericka also is working on a screenplay titled "The Clique" which is based on a true crime story. Ericka is the host of a teen produced local cable show called, "That's Just How it is", and an internet broadcasted show titled "Circlez", which she directs.

Her goal is to help heal the community by addressing social issues. She would like her show Circlez to eventually be picked up by network television. The name comes from the revolution of good and bad and the evolution of wrong to right, when we mentally decide to live a full prosperous and productive life. She is trying to lead by example to make a difference in the lives of youth as well as adults.

Ericka is motivated, compassionate, and outgoing. Ericka is the type of lady who does not give up and does not stop creating. Not only is she a dreamer but a doer and her favorite saying is, Ain t nothing to it but to do it. She prides herself on completing whatever she starts. She always tries to deal with the important social issues that we all face in her works. Ericka believes that one day all of her hard work will be recognized and that she will ultimately be able to help many people with her destined success.
